Isak's First Orchestra Concert - violin

For this week's Friday assembly the 5th grade orchestra students (around 50 students) performed Christmas songs:  "Good King Wenceslas," "Joy to the World" and "Jinglebells." None of them had ever played their instruments before school began this year. I think they did a really good job. Mr. Osborn who teaches them is wonderful. He caught up with me after the concert and said,
"That makes it worth all that noise when he practices at home to see that it does come together, right?"
"Absolutely, except I never hear any noise. Isak doesn't practice at home."
"What?? Well, he has a really great ear, that is for sure, but he needs to practice more with his sheet music." We have the same issue with the piano. He learns his stuff so fast by heart he forgets to read the music. I guess we will have to crack down on this.

Before the concert, in the violin section.
