I have not yet posted about Troy's 40th birthday, but it is an occasion worthy of some notice. We got together casually at Donna's house on Nov 21st - Troy's actual birthday. We had some food and cake and the kids played.
Mark and Victoria, their children: Isak, Elina, Anja and Julia. Visitors are advised that this site may contain extreme minutia and adoration involving four blond kids, mainly for the benefit of those poor grandparents and family an ocean away. If you are not them, you may experience boredom. You have been warned.

We did our traditional Dallas trip for the SWEA Lucia celebration this weekend. Parting with tradition we did NOT participate in the Lucia performance. Elina remembered the performance as looooong. Well, she and Isak both had a change of heart when they saw everyone dressed up, of course. And this year, the children entered later in the program and were allowed to sit down on the steps of the stage after their songs were over. Smart!! The choir sang beautifully and I loved it. The choir members berated (lovingly) for not supporting them. Next year, for sure!
The kids did get to see Tomten (Santa Claus), the Swedish one that they have seen before. Anja told him she wanted a Rapunzel doll and exactly what Elina chatted about I don't know. They all know Santa is a friendly myth, but enjoyed seeing him none-the-less.
A little reluctant at first...
Too old to want to sit on his lap.
Not scared.
"Let me tell you..."
Svenska barn med svensk tomte.
We ate at IKEA according to tradition and then the Fishers did some serious shopping.
Where is Julia?? (She refused to eat)
Anja låg i påsen hela tiden.
On the way home everyone played with silly putty.

Elina fick bort sitt gips!
Julia and Play-Doh
It's a love-affair! Julia can sit with completely unbroken focus for 2 hours straight with Play-Doh. On Friday Mark, Isak, Elina and I went to see "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Sooner Theatre and Donna babysat Anja and Julia. We were gone for 2,5 hours. When we got back Julia had not moved from the Play-Doh - and it is typical for her.
It just doesn't get boring.
Thanksgiving
We got together with Mark's extended family on Donna's side for Thanksgiving. We gathered in Oklahoma City and ate tons of food - of course. We had not seen many of these family members for a long time because of our San Antonio trips that last two Thanksgivings. Here are a few pictures.

It was warm and the kids played outside.

Elina 2nd grade performance
Elina had her 2nd grade music performance on November 15th. She was a leopard and was very cute. We are used to very high quality productions coming out of Truman School, and this one did not quite live up to previous ones. The songs were more like chants, rather than songs. Still, Elina did a very good job and we are proud of her.
