Daniella & Samuel, May 12th 2012

While my sister Daniella, her Samuel, their kids Nike and Noah as well as their parents, went to the wedding ceremony and dinner afterwards, myself and one of my mother's co-workers went to work and set up a small surprise wedding reception at my parents' house. They did not know we were planning this, nor did they know I would be there. Lots of fun!

We picked up the cake, made a sign, poured the champagne, made coffee, etc.
Now we're ready for the unsuspecting guests of honor.

 Some of the guests.

 More guests.

My mom, grandma, sister and self.

The cake.

The handsome couple.

Mom & Julia to Sweden

Leaving behind the oldest 3 kids and Mark, Julia and I took a stealthy trip to Sweden. Why stealthy? I'll explain in the next post.
Pigg och glad på första flighten.

Evening walk to the store the first night.
See the boulder in the background?
Julia said when we got close, "What a big rock! It is so heavy I cannot lift it."
I forget the kids don't often see rocky terrain.

Gerdsken lake next to the store.

Isak 4th grade music performance - SHREK

The 4th grade put on a musical performance that was really pretty good. I filmed a few snippets (none of the acting, as usual). Isak had been offered a larger acting part, but declined it (ever the perfectionist - afraid of messing up). But we are very proud of his efforts. He has become very good at playing the recorder, and this performance does not show off his full range of abilities in that department.

Here is some footage - I was not aware that the camera zooming noise would be picked up...

As his mother, I can hear his voice clearly above the others in this one below since he is positioned right at the microphone. This video has essence of home video - I had to move because Little Red Riding Hood was blocking my view at first.

And lastly here is Isak doing his brief narration. Love that boy!

Dragon in Disguise below by soloist Will -
who teachers and kids often confuse with Isak because they look a lot alike.
Isak and Will also played soccer together this semester.
